What a trip…the legends at Pirate Life really know how to throw a party! Jerome flew over to Adelaide in the week leading up to the party, commissioned to paint a couple of walls in the Pirate Life Brewery. This place is insane, such a cool spot located in Port Adelaide, the breweries a converted wool store, and it’s HUGE!
The place is set up perfectly with a massive stage on one end, live art on the other and about 20 bars in between! Not to mention the fresh cuts coming out of the PL barbershop.
The day started out pretty chill, a couple of mid-strength sours and a walk through the venue. We caught up with a couple of local Wonderwalls artists (@kerriwright, @erl05_) painting live on the hoarding, check out their pieces below.
As the night went on, the beers got stronger. The Strata Amarillo was my personal pick, but at 7% it was definitely worth taking it easy! The bands and DJ’s were sick, including Remi, Midnight Juggernaughts and headlined by You Am I. By the end of the night, we somehow managed to stumble back to our apartment up the road..but man was it worth the weeklong hangover!!
Since we began in January 2019 Pirate Life have been an amazing support for us, sponsoring our Australian launch and more recently our ‘Street Art for Climate Change’ event, held in November last year. We have commissioned a bunch of murals around Perth for these guys and there’s a lot of exciting things on the horizon for these guys, especially opening up in Perth later this year. We can’t wait!
Cheers to beers.
